LED advertising screens: the venue nobody drives past
A light box shows your name. An LED screen shows what you have today, when you are open and why the person walking by should stop. You change the content from your phone in seconds, with no printing and no ladder.
GMITTER MEDIA supplies and services LED systems for MŠK Žilina, Košice Football Arena, Futbal Tatran Arena and Decathlon stores. At the OC Optima shopping centre in Košice we built Slovakia's first circular LED screen.

Advertising you can rewrite in thirty seconds
An LED advertising screen is a light emitting surface made of LED modules, mounted on a facade, above an entrance, in a shop window or inside the venue. Unlike an illuminated logo or a printed poster it shows moving content, and that content can be changed at any time, including remotely.
The practical difference is in day to day operation. Changing a printed poster means design, printing, delivery and somebody to swap it. Changing content on an LED screen means uploading a new image or video. A seasonal offer, holiday opening hours or today's lunch deal are all done from a phone.
Content can also be scheduled in advance: breakfast menu in the morning, lunch offers during the day, drinks promotion in the evening. The screen then runs on its own and you do not have to come back to it.

Why an LED screen instead of a light box
Visible day and night
The screen emits its own light, so it keeps working after dark when your venue is closed. Brightness adjusts automatically to ambient light so it does not dazzle at night or disappear during the day.
Movement stops the eye
The brain filters out a static poster. A changing image and movement in the field of view do attract attention, even when someone is driving past or in a hurry.
No more printing costs
Every poster change means design, printing and installation. On a screen a content change costs nothing and takes a minute, so you can afford to change the offer daily.
One surface, several messages
The loop can carry your offer, opening hours, a new product and a partner's advertisement. Instead of five signs on the facade you have one surface that looks tidy.
A surface that earns
You can sell part of the airtime to a supplier or a neighbouring business. An advertising cost then turns into an item that partly or fully pays for itself.
Built for the weather
The outdoor version is rated against rain and dust and works in frost and heat alike. Shop window and indoor versions use a finer pitch designed for close viewing.
Where an LED advertising screen makes sense
The difference between versions is mainly brightness and pixel pitch. The further the viewer stands, the coarser the pitch can be; the more direct sun hits the surface, the higher the brightness has to be.
On the facade and above the entrance
The most common solution for restaurants, service centres, shops and roadside hotels. The screen replaces an illuminated sign and stays readable from a car and from across the street.
- high brightness for direct sunlight
- rated against rain and dust
- night dimming so it does not disturb the neighbourhood
- content over the internet, no trips to the screen
In the shop window
A screen facing the street keeps working after closing time. The critical points are reflections and brightness, so that the image stays readable through glass.
- finer pitch for close viewing
- slim build that does not eat into the window
- transparent panel option if the window has to stay see-through
- installation without structural work
In the shop and showroom
Indoors the screen sells at the moment of decision: at the counter, above a shelf or behind reception. Here it is about colour fidelity and silent operation.
- fine pitch for viewing from a few metres
- accurate colours for product photography
- no fans, therefore no noise
- can be linked to the till or stock system
What we decide during the design
Exact parameters are designed around the space. These are the decisions that shape both the result and the price:
| Parameter | What it means in practice |
|---|---|
| Pixel pitch | Determines the distance from which the image is sharp. Finer for a shop window, coarser and cheaper for a roadside facade. |
| Brightness | An outdoor surface in direct sun needs many times the brightness of an indoor one. Insufficient brightness is the most common flaw of cheap installations. |
| Ingress protection | An outdoor surface has to withstand rain and dust. It is stated as an IP rating and it is worth asking about. |
| Size and aspect ratio | Derived from module size and from what the surface has to display. We adapt it to the facade, not the other way round. |
| Content control | Over the internet from a phone, tablet or computer. Content can be scheduled hours and days ahead. |
| Installation and power | Support structure, anchoring and a power supply. Larger surfaces also need a structural report and a permit. |
| Service | Warranty and post-warranty care. Every installation includes a set of spare modules so a replacement can be handled on the spot. |
You will get exact values in the quote after a site visit, or after sending us a photo of the location and the dimensions.

Kráľovský dvor restaurant
We mounted an LED screen on the facade above the restaurant entrance so that it is visible from the main road. The venue uses it to rotate its offer, promotions and the brands it serves.
The screen stays lit after closing time, so it advertises the next day at the very moment the place is empty. That is the whole difference between an illuminated logo and a surface that can say something new.

Tell us where and for whom
A photo of the location, approximate dimensions and where people should see the screen from is enough. We work out the rest together.
We design the solution and the price
You get a specific proposal: size, pitch, brightness, mounting method and a price including installation. No hidden items.
We prepare the installation
We check the load bearing capacity and power supply and, where needed, arrange the structural report and permit. The date is planned so your business keeps running.
We install and calibrate
Structure, screen, control system, brightness and colour calibration. We also set the night dimming so the surface does not disturb the neighbourhood.
We train you and provide service
We show you how to change content and hand over the access. After that it is just service you can rely on.
